2019 El "Día De San Juan" Salsa Festival Dedication

WRPRC Pays tribute to Luis Acosta  (1961 - 2019)

Picture

For 2019, the WRPRC dedicates El "Dia de San Juan" Salsa Festival to Mr. Luis Acosta, who was very proud of his culture and heritage and served the Latin and Puerto Rican community, locally and abroad.

Luis Acosta was born in Brooklyn, New York.  Since childhood he demonstrated a passion for the artistry of music.  At the age of 15, he began playing bongos and was a background vocalist with local New York bands.  In the early 1980's Luis moved to the Bay Area and continued his artistry in music, singing with Bay Area Bands.

His passion for music transcended to a passion for worship. He became a passionate worship leader for his home church. He sang locally and abroad, touching lives with his message and musical talent.

He became musical director of worship and praise with Amen Ministry for the West Coast Region, Puerto Rico, and Canada.  He also founded Torre Alta Productions (ministry), and produced, "Te Lo Digo Cantando".

You could always find Luis with a BIG, infectious smile.  He loved the Lord, life and people, and enjoyed helping others with his time and talents.  He had a great sense of humor and was always coming up with spontaneous, contagious phrases and expressions, such as, Aleluyando!

Luis was a loving, supportive, loyal husband, father, and grandfather.  He loved spending time with his family and friends.  Luis was a beautiful Soul.
